About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.

Our project is inclusive and is open to clients and volunteers of all backgrounds, faith and nationality

The need for a foodbank within Peterborough was identified back in 2012 during a Tackling Poverty workshop. At that time 1 in 4 children in Peterborough were identified as living in poverty. As a result Peterborough foodbank opened in October 2012 to help address this issue.

Our aim is to show God’s love in action for those that are struggling or in poverty. Not only do we provide food parcels, but offer signposting and a listening ear. We hope to be able to develop to offer more services that our clients need to help lift them out of the their crisis.

Join us in our mission as we seek to empower people in Peterborough to end poverty. Your donation will support our projects to empower people in Peterborough to prevent and alleviate poverty, through the provision of food aid, support programmes, and mental health support. Your donation (unless specified) will be allocated to our most pressing need.

If you have a complaint about the service you have received please see our Complaints procedure
