Great news, we have now secured a new home for our warehouse operation which is twice the size of our current premises. This will hopefully give us more storage space to be able to cope with the increase in donations we experience during harvest festival and with the lovely generous Christmas giving.
We also hope this will give our volunteers more space to work around, helping them in picking the food to send to our foodbank centres, and create a nice flow. In addition our new warehouse has heating, which will be a real luxury for our volunteers, so hopefully no more freezing during the winter.
We will also be in occupation of this new space with the Care Zone project, so we are delighted to be joining them. For those of you that have not heard of Care Zone, this is a local charity which provides free household items and furniture to those in poverty. They operate in a very similar was to Foodbank. So if you are replacing your sofa, dining tables etc with new items, please do consider donating your old furniture to Care Zone (in good condition please).
We are moving on Fri 22nd March, so please could all donations from then on come to our new location which is Dodson House, Dodson Way, Fengate PE1 5XG.
Directions for donations:
As you approach Dodson House, please take the road which turns down the right hand side of the building (not the one that leads to the new Household Recycling Facility on the left) and ahead you will see a metal fence and gate, please drive into this yard area and you will see our roller door and fire escape door where you can pull up to unload your donations. If the door is not open please ring the doorbell.
